bed bugs, which have been around for centuries, have been spotted in a number of cities around the world.
But the latest sightings in New York are a first.
It comes from a bedbug-ridden apartment building, which is apparently being used as a laboratory for a new breed of bedbugs.
The New York Post reports that residents of the Building 9 at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel are experiencing bed bugs and the building is being inspected.
According to the Post, the building has been inspected by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH).
The building was previously the home of the former United States Marine Corps hospital where the first bed bug infestation was discovered.
Bed bugs are believed to have arrived from Southeast Asia.
It’s unclear if the bugs are resistant to bed bug repellents or if they are simply being used to test new treatments.
The building has also been cited for neglect in the past.
